A retirement tea for Dorothy Panowicz, budget and fiscal associate in the UNMC Office of Budget and Fiscal Analysis, will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Wigton Heritage Center. The event will be from 2-4 p.m., with brief remarks set for 3 p.m.

Panowicz is a 34-year employee of UNMC and was recognized in August as UNMC’s Gold U Award winner.

“We wish Dorothy all the best as she moves into her retirement,” said Susan Kraft Mann, associate vice chancellor for business and finance. “Dorothy has been an integral part of our budget team and carries a tremendous amount of institutional knowledge on our policies and procedures. Her tireless work on the UNMC Planning Information and Quality Indicators annual report is unparalleled.

“Congratulations on your 34-year career and thank you for your service.”

In her interview for UNMC Today upon receiving the Gold U Award, Panowicz said her relationships with individuals across the university system were what made her time at UNMC so enjoyable.

“I’ve enjoyed my years at UNMC, and it’s the people that have made it great,” she said. “In the end, it’s about helping people rather than helping yourself.”
