Olson Center brown bag to discuss ‘Breast Cancer 101’

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Olson Center for Women’s Health will offer a discussion on “Breast Cancer 101,” turning attention to the issue and reminding people of the strategies they can incorporate to reduce their risk. 

On Oct. 5, Jairam Krishnamurthy, MD, associate professor in the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine – Division of Hematology/Oncology, will discuss the risk factors for developing breast cancer and ways people can lower their risks. He also will discuss how a multidisciplinary approach might be used to devise the treatment if breast cancer is diagnosed.

This virtual Olson Center October Brown Bag, co-sponsored by the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, will be from noon to 1 p.m. Register through Engage, email the Olson Women’s Health Resource Center or call 402-559-6345.

This is a free event and open to the community. Nursing credit is available for $15.
