Make-up ‘Operation Immunization’ flu clinic set
The UNMC College of Pharmacy’s award-winning Operation Immunization, a unique collaboration between the college, student health, family medicine, employee health and the UNMC chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, is holding a make-up flu shot clinic Nov. 1.
Anyone – especially students – still needing a flu shot can go to the PDD (pharmacy building) simulation lab next Wednesday from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
Dr. Fadul named to national board
UNMC’s Nada Fadul, MD, professor of infectious diseases, assistant dean in the UNMC College of Medicine’s Office of DEI and medical director of the Specialty Care Center, has been selected for the Infectious Disease Society of America’s HIV Medical Association Board.
Dr. Fadul begins her three-year term in October.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be selected to serve the society and the HIV community at large in this role,” Dr. Fadul said. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to expand my advocacy efforts to eliminate health disparities and strive towards equity for people living with and at risk for HIV infection.”
Food vendors on campus
Mark your calendars with the schedule of food vendors on the UNMC Omaha campus. Vendors will be located on both the east and west sides of campus, serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. This lineup will be updated as changes are made.
The schedule is as follows:
East end of campus (Sorrell Center, Alumni Commons area unless specified otherwise below):
- Mondays – Southern Spoon
- Tuesdays – Zemogs
- Wednesdays – Pulled BBQ Omaha
- Thursdays – Sgt. Peffers
- Fridays – Tastee Trailer (food trailer south of the Sorrell Center on Emile Street)
West end of campus (Durham Research Center towers)
- Mondays – Zemogs (food trailer located to the east of DRC 1)
- Tuesdays – Streetside (food truck east of Durham Research Center)
- Wednesdays – Tastee Trailer (food trailer east of Durham Research Center)
- Thursdays – Pim’s Thai Catering & Take Out (DRC II, Maurer Commons area)
- Fridays – Let Me Feed You (Maurer Commons area)
