Student Appreciation Day activities set for Monday

UNMC celebrates Student Appreciation Day on Monday, April 8, with an array of activities open to all students.

The event’s goal is to create opportunities that show UNMC’s support and appreciation for the contributions, impact and value of its graduate and professional students.

Activities on UNMC’s Omaha campus are set to run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Sorrell Center’s first floor foyer and will include:

  • Grab-and-go snack bar and hydration station;
  • Paws for Friendship therapy dogs;
  • Rock painting;
  • Coloring and de-stress station;
  • Photo booth; and
  • Metro Credit Union information table.

Activities at UNMC’s Kearney campus are scheduled from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Health Sciences Education Complex, HSEC 100, and Student Commons. Activities will include:

  • Snacks and hydration station;
  • Kindness rock painting;
  • Photo booth; and
  • Live bingo.

Students at UNMC’s Lincoln, Norfolk and Scottsbluff-Gering campuses will be provided with UNMC-branded items and will be celebrated by the Student Life Inclusion and Diversity Office during the week.

UNMC’s six colleges and UNMC Graduate Studies contributed to the funding of the event, along with local sponsors Vic’s Popcorn, Hy-Vee and Metro Credit Union.

    Should provide some solar eclipse glasses for the partial eclipse that afternoon.
