Bradley Britigan, MD, dean of the UNMC College of Medicine and the Stokes-Shackleford Professor, has announced the search committee for the next chair of the UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Kari Simonsen, MD, chair of the UNMC Department of Pediatrics, will chair the search committee, which includes representation from Nebraska Medicine and the community.
The committee is charged with finding a successor for Carl Smith, MD, who will step down from the role once a successor is identified and on campus. Dr. Smith has served as OB/GYN chair since 2002; he will continue to work clinically after moving away from the leadership role.
