More than 200 pieces of art made by about 40 students were on display during the annual Advocacy and the Arts exhibit.
The Trailblazers’ Advocacy and the Arts program is an arts-based learning opportunity for students with disabilities. Under the guidance of MMI faculty and professional teaching artists, students develop advocacy skills, build upon their art skills and increase self-confidence while exploring a variety of mediums and art-based careers.
Artwork included drawings, paintings and sculptures made from several mediums, including acrylic paint, ink washes, plaster fibers, wire, watercolors, clay, tar paper, charcoal, pen and graphite.
