The Seventh Annual Graduate Medical Education Research Symposium was held on April 29 in the Truhlsen Events Center.
Residents and fellows from both UNMC and CHI displayed their research posters and gave oral presentations.
House officers presented their research in areas such as clinical outcomes, basic science, education, business, health policy and humanities.

There were more than 130 research abstracts – in both oral and poster formats – presented at the event.
H. Dele Davies, MD, interim chancellor, and Bradley Britigan, MD, dean of the UNMC College of Medicine, provided opening remarks.
Chandrakanth Are, MBBS, senior associate dean for graduate medical education, said the event “is a wonderful venue for residents and fellows to showcase their valuable research.”
Abstracts presented at the symposium will be included in the Graduate Medical Education Research Journal, Volume 7, Issue 1, set to be published in June.
“I want to thank the entire GME office, particularly Premila Leiphrakpam, MBBS, GME research and education program manager, for their hard work that contributed to the success of the event.”
Dr. Are also noted the contributions of GME office members Erin Snow, Amy Guziec, Arianne Marcoux and Rachel Nelsen, as well as Candace Peteler, campus events center coordinator.
“They were instrumental in organizing the symposium,” he said.
