The “Kismet” garden featured sprawling flowers, bushes and water features. Including, on June 8, a light rain.
A steady rain didn’t deter garden walkers from turning out for the Munroe-Meyer Guild’s 56th Annual Garden Walk. At the Kismet garden, located at a home near 79th and Pacific streets, the space was dotted with umbrellas and rain jacket clad garden-goers.
The walk drew nearly 1,000 guests through six Omaha-area gardens.

“Despite the rainy weather, we had a great turnout,” said Jennifer Read, president of the Munroe-Meyer Guild. “I always love the day of the Garden Walk. It’s when all the hard work from everyone in the guild truly comes together.”
Funds raised support innovative programming and research at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.
The guild has a history of using its fundraising to provide seed grant funding for successful MMI programs, including GoBabyGo! Nebraska, the Opportunity Brew Coffee Cart and the virtual-reality Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy (HABIT) Camp.
