Drone fly along offers Kearney construction tour

Construction on the 110,000-square-foot Health Science Education Center II in Kearney is progressing toward an early 2026 opening.

MCL Construction has provided a drone video tour of recent progress on the new Health Science Education Center II building, part of the Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex in Kearney.

Health Science Education Center II is set to open in early 2026. But the first UNMC pharmacy class at Kearney is set to enroll this month, in August 2025. So will expanded programs in nursing and allied health, joining existing UNMC College of Nursing and UNMC College of Allied Health Professions programs with students, faculty and staff already working and learning on the Kearney campus.

The first UNMC College of Medicine students at Kearney will enroll in August 2026. UNMC eventually will have more than 600 learners enrolled on the Kearney campus.
