- Hometown: Ahmedabad, India
Research/professional interests:

How I fell in love with hematopathology and molecular pathology:
- I was drawn to pathology because this field drives many of the modern treatment protocols. Although we do not have direct interaction with the patients, the diagnosis we give is often the driving force behind the treatment patients receive. I also enjoy solving puzzles, and hematopathology is the ultimate puzzle. This advanced pathology field demands a comprehensive correlation of clinical history, histomorphology, flow cytometry, cytogenetics and cutting-edge molecular tests like next-generation sequencing. The immense reward for solving it is ensuring patients receive the correct treatment.
Education:
- Molecular genetic pathology fellowship, UNMC
- Hematopathology fellowship, UNMC
- Pathology residency-AP/CP, University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville
- MD pathology residency, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital, Puducherry, India
- MBBS, Pramukhswami Medical College, Gujarat, India
Memberships:
- College of American Pathologists
- United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology
- Association for Molecular Pathology
Three things people may not know about me:
- I enjoy reading (non-fiction, history, economics), snorkeling (my favorite spot is alligator reef lighthouse in the Florida Keys) and taking long car drives.
