UNMC Human Resources is offering a special video series in August for National Wellness Month to help encourage people to prioritize their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being in their daily lives.
Human resources has teamed with the UNMC Chancellor’s Office, UNMC Center for Healthy Living, the UNMC Wellnees Team and Metropolitan Community College’s Open Kitchen to create wellness-focused programming.
These short videos, available now on UNMC’s Bridge app, include desk-friendly exercises, guided mindfulness, stress relief strategies and a healthy cooking demonstration. On Bridge, find the videos by navigating to the UNMC Employee Wellness category.
- “Finding Balance: How to Thrive in the Face of Life’s Stresses,” presented by Steven Wengel, MD, and Priya Gearin, MD, of the UNMC Wellness Team.
- “Mindfulness and Meditation for Stress Relief,” presented by Sarah Fischer, PhD, of the UNMC Wellness Team.
- Strawberry Gazpacho recipe, a refreshing dish from Metropolitan Community College’s Open Kitchen.
- Resistance band exercises at a desk, led by the Center for Healthy Living’s Kristal Cavanaugh.
