The UNMC Nebraska Center for Women’s Health Research is accepting applications for funding of innovative, significant projects focused on women’s health research.

The center aims to sponsor a pilot project that proposes novel, high-impact research to foster the development of promising early-stage studies and encourage the transition to securing external funding.

One-year awards of up to $25,000 will be funded, beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

All University of Nebraska faculty members with an academic appointment at or above the level of instructor are eligible to apply. All principal investigators must be members of the Nebraska Center for Women’s Health Research. To become a member, click here to access the NCWHR Membership Form and register.

Projects must focus on some aspect of women’s health-related research, and priority will be given to collaborative projects with the highest scientific merit, which advance the goals of the Nebraska Center for Women’s Health Research. Principal investigators cannot request contributions to their salary, equipment or travel.

For more information on the submission requirements, see this document and this website.

Proposals are due by Sunday, Oct. 19, by 11:59 pm CT. Applications should be submitted to the Nebraska Center for Women’s Health Research by email.

With questions on the registration process, email research administrator Carrie Drummond.
