How I fell in love with medicine and my specialty:
I fell in love with OB-GYN through a deep appreciation for the complexity and strength of women’s physiology. Learning how our bodies adapt and transform was awe-inspiring, but what truly drew me in was the anthropological lens — seeing how pivotal life stages in a woman’s journey often come with stigma, taboo or shifts in societal roles. During my clinical rotations, I realized I could make a meaningful impact by helping women feel more comfortable and empowered in their own bodies, especially as I navigate some of these stages myself.
Things people might not know about me:
- I’m a huge fan of musicals and will never say no to watching “Phantom of the Opera.”
- I was a spelling bee champ — in both English and Spanish!
- If Carole King is playing, my day instantly gets better.
