UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, stepped forward Thursday to get his seasonal flu shot, visiting the UNMC College of Pharmacy’s Operation Immunization vaccine clinic.
Dr. Davies wore his UNMC-red “At Our Best Together” t-shirt while he received his vaccine from P-1 pharmacy student Stephen Steggs.
“Each year, I prioritize getting my flu shot because it’s a simple way to care for myself and the Nebraska community,” Dr. Davies said. “I want to thank the College of Pharmacy and the student who administered my vaccine this year, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of the convenience of our campus and Nebraska Medicine clinics.”

At left, pharmacy student Elizabeth Eidem, a P-2, registers Dr. Davies for his flu vaccine. At right, Stephen Steggs, a P-1, administers the flu shot.
UNMC and Nebraska Medicine have a goal for at least 90% of UNMC faculty, staff and students and Nebraska Medicine colleagues to receive the influenza vaccine this season and 100% to document their vaccination status.
The Operation Immunization clinics are going on now through Sept. 26.
Nebraska Medicine’s campus clinics start Oct. 9 and run through Nov. 24.
