UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, will join Ken Bayles, PhD, UNMC’s vice chancellor for research, and other research leaders at a research town hall today (Oct. 22) to deliver an announcement regarding UNMC’s industry engagement efforts.
This month’s town hall will be held from 2-3 p.m. at the Catalyst building in the EDGE District. Members of the UNMC community can access the meeting via a webinar link at this UNMC event listing.
Note the location change: Today’s town hall has moved to the Forge Event Hall, in the Catalyst, to better accommodate those attending the UNMC College of Medicine research retreat that will follow immediately afterward. Prior announcements listed a different location.
In addition to the major announcement, the town hall will feature a panel discussion to dive further into industry engagement and ways to diversify research funding, updates on UNMC’s major infrastructure grant programs, awards metrics from the first quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, the latest with the government shutdown and more.
Researchers will have an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session. To ensure research leaders can provide the most informed responses, attendees are encouraged to email questions in advance.
The UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research regularly hosts town hall meetings to address key research topics, provide updates and respond to questions from UNMC’s research community.
