Starting Friday, Nov. 7, Lot 1 will undergo a surface coating replacement to enhance safety and accessibility.
The resurfacing work aims to improve the overall safety and appearance of Lot 1 while maintaining accessibility throughout the duration of the work. The work on the surface of Lot 1 (Orange Parking), located just east of Clarkson Tower, will be completed in two phases lasting up to six weeks.
The first phase will focus on the surface coating in front of the drop-off area in front of Clarkson Tower. Construction cones and signage will block off this lane. During this time, traffic will be shifted slightly in front of Clarkson Tower to accommodate the work.

After two to three weeks, the second phase will begin. It will reverse the setup of phase one, targeting the outside lane in front of the building’s entrance.

Additional parking and traffic adjustments will be made, as work also will be done within Lot 1, the Clarkson Tower visitor parking lot.
- Temporary signage, along with a construction worker, will help direct traffic and ensure smooth navigation.
- Approximately 10 parking stalls in Lot 1 will be unavailable at any given time during the repair work.
- Patients and visitors should be encouraged to use valet parking at Clarkson Tower.
- Overflow parking will be available in the Clarkson Doctors Building South parking lot, located just north of Clarkson Tower.
Clarkson Tower shuttle stop
The med center shuttle pick-up and drop-off at Clarkson Tower will be temporarily paused due to this construction work. Updates about the Lot 1 work will be provided as needed as the project progresses.
