Trees located on the hillside north of the Durham Research Center I will be removed Tuesday, Nov. 18, to make way for construction of Project Health, a $2.2 billion public-private partnership that will transform health care in Nebraska.
In October, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents authorized the next phase of Project Health, which includes construction of the shell and core of the facility. Retaining walls and deep foundations will be put in place for the towering structure and steel beams will begin rising from the site this spring.
Following completion of Project Health in 2031, a comprehensive landscaping plan will be implemented that accounts for the removed trees.
