De-Stress Week returns Monday, Dec. 8, through Friday, Dec. 12. Employees and students at UNMC are invited to attend the week’s activities for a chance to unwind and take a break before finals, commencement and the holidays.
Monday’s events start with a coffee break at 8:30 a.m. at the UNMC College of Pharmacy, second floor. The station, which will include tea, will have a variety of syrups and creamers to add. Beverages are available for the first 100 people; sponsored by Student Life Involvement and Development Office.
At noon, a Hatha Yoga class will be held in the Center for Healthy Living, Room 1009. The class emphasizes breathwork, postures, relaxation and meditation. Postures are held for an extended period to ensure proper alignment and to build core strength and flexibility. Each class will include pranayama, sun and moon salutations, gentle inversions and savasana. This free class is sponsored by the Center for Healthy Living. Pre-registration is not required. Attendees will need to check in five minutes prior to class at the front desk.
At 2 p.m., there will be a virtual stretch break led by the Center for Healthy Living, available at this link.
