How I fell in love with medicine and my specialty:
I knew I was inclined toward surgery and procedures in medical school, but I fell in love with obstetrics during my third year. I loved taking care of patients of all ages and all walks of life. I was able to perform surgeries and procedures and still follow patients throughout their health care journey. As a resident, I found myself wanting to be on the forefront of specialized gynecology care, and I found myself drawn toward minimally invasive surgery and complex gynecology. From there, I decided to pursue a fellowship and specialize in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Now I can treat endometriosis, fibroids and many other pathologies with small incisions and the least impact on the patient. I enjoy seeing my patients improve and often able to go home the same day from their surgery.
