UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to join Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, Tuesday, Dec. 16, for this month’s all-campus forum, which will originate from the UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln.
Dr. Davies will be joined by guests Jon Watts, senior associate vice president and chief operating officer for the University of Nebraska System, and UNMC College of Dentistry Dean Gerard “Gerry” Kugel, DMD, PhD.
Watts, who joined the NU System in September as a key integrator of systemwide priorities, will detail his role and how he’ll be working with UNMC.
Dr. Kugel will provide UNMC College of Dentistry updates. The dean also will share his vision for the college, including community outreach plans related to the VETSmile program and a new urgent care clinic at the dental school to manage emergent dental needs and reduce emergency room visits.
The forum will be from noon to 12:50 p.m. in Dixon Auditorium in the UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln. The forum also will be available via Zoom; the link can be found on the campus intranet.
Forum attendees also will hear updates on topics ranging from the recent joint institutional accreditation for UNMC and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as well as the Canvas Convergence project and other university-related updates.
