Center for Continuing Education relocates to Catalyst

The UNMC Center for Continuing Education has moved its offices to Catalyst, offering new space and new technology in the newly renovated building in the UNMC EDGE District.

The Center for Continuing Education — a jointly accredited provider offering continuing education opportunities to all members of the health care team — had long been located in Annex 14, just west of Saddle Creek Road along Farnam Street. That space was later repurposed to house the Project Health construction staff.

The center’s emergency medical and trauma program moved into a temporary space in Catalyst last October, and the rest of the staff moved on Feb. 12.

A recognized American Heart Association Training Center, the Center for Continuing Education offers such courses as Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Lift Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and an American Heart Association Instructor Course.

After being on hiatus during the transition, those courses will be starting again in the new Catalyst location in March.

Other classes and events offered off-site by the Center for Continuing Education will continue as regularly planned.

At Catalyst, the Center for Continuing Education will be gaining access to event meeting space and additional spaces for larger groups and classes, along with additional exposure with other Catalyst tenants, said Kerri Gilson, the center’s executive director.

Catalyst also offers a restaurant at Big Grove Brewery and coffee shop with Big Grove Coffee Co.

Catalyst is located at 4601 Catalyst Court in the EDGE District.

Parking is available in the parking garage across from the north entrance of the building or metered street parking. This garage and parking meters are operated by Park Omaha, and all visitors must use the Park Omaha app to pay for parking or risk a citation.

The building is badge-access only. A staff member will meet guests in the foyer and assist with building access. People who have registered for training sessions can refer to their confirmation email for detailed arrival instructions.
