The Olson Center for Women’s Health will hold its next Wellness Through Doing class on Thursday, April 9, at noon, with a presentation on 3D printing.
Participants will discover how 3D printing can be a fun, accessible hobby that sparks creativity and practical problem‑solving.
In this hands‑on session, UNMC’s Jami Monico, an assistant professor and instructional designer in the UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Tim Krayer, a multimedia technologist with the UNMC Office of Interactive E-Learning, will introduce common filament types, basic 3D design principles and ways to choose materials that fit someone’s project goals, from durability to aesthetics.
Participants will learn how to find and use community resources — such as libraries, maker spaces and online repositories — to keep exploring and creating beyond the workshop.
Register for the session by emailing the Olson Women’s Health Resource Center or calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Zoom link and viewing directions will be given to registrants prior to the free presentation.
