Brake For Breakfast goes border to border

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center's Brake for Breakfast 2026 expanded to offer cancer awareness and screening information at 10 communities across Nebraska.

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center Brake for Breakfast 2026 was one for the record books.

This year, the cancer awareness event expanded to 10 communities across Nebraska, in a bigger, more impactful way than ever before.

Events were held in Beatrice, Grand Island, Kearney, McCook, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha, Ord, Scottsbluff and Valentine.

More than 1,500 people connected with cancer screening education and resources thanks to a statewide effort powered by local hospitals, community partners, students, volunteers and more.

The message was simple but powerful: early detection saves lives.

Even beyond the numbers, the real impact is in meeting people where they are, breaking down barriers and helping more Nebraskans take that first step toward prevention and screening.

Organizers thanked everyone who made this possible.
