Dr. Davies’ all-campus forum is today

UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, Angela Hewlett, MD, medical director of the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, and Michael Wadman, MD, medical director of the National Quarantine Unit.

UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to join Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, today (May 12) for this month’s all-campus forum, which will highlight the National Quarantine Unit and the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, as well as the priorities of UNMC’s Student Senate.

Dr. Davies will talk with Angela Hewlett, MD, medical director of the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, Orr Chair in Health Security and infectious diseases physician-scientist, and Michael Wadman, MD, Muelleman Chair of Emergency Medicine at UNMC and medical director of the National Quarantine Unit.

Dr. Davies also will be joined by guests Allie Daro, fourth-year UNMC College of Medicine student and incoming student senate president/University of Nebraska student regent, and Alex Martinez, incoming student senate vice president and third-year UNMC College of Pharmacy student.

The all-campus forum will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m. in the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 3013, on the Omaha campus. The forum also will be available via Zoom; the link can be found on the campus intranet.

As official representatives of the student body, Daro and Martinez will highlight the work of the student senate and outline their priorities for the coming year. Dr. Davies also will provide updates on other UNMC-related topics. 

Questions may be asked during or before the forum. To ask a question in advance, email the UNMC Strategic Communications team. An American Sign Language interpreter will take part in the event.
