The UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will host a Research Town Hall on Thursday, June 25, to discuss proposed federal policy changes that could affect research activities at UNMC and institutions across the country.
The forum will focus on proposed revisions to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance, the government-wide framework for federal grants and contracts, as well as proposed National Institutes of Health changes related to research and research administration.
Panelists will be Ken Bayles, PhD, vice chancellor for research; Bethany DeCarolis, interim director of sponsored programs administration; and Jeff Kratz, director of government relations.
They’ll discuss the latest developments, potential implications for federally funded research and how UNMC and University of Nebraska leaders are reviewing the proposals and preparing institutional feedback. Attendees also will have an opportunity to ask questions and share perspectives.
The town hall will run from noon-1 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium, Room 1002. The meeting also will be available via Zoom webinar through the link on this campus event listing.
