The UNMC College of Public Health recently welcomed new members into Delta Omega, the national honorary society for graduate studies in public health, during its annual Student Recognition Ceremony.
Delta Omega recognizes outstanding achievement in scholarship, teaching, research and community service, as well as dedication to advancing the field of public health. Membership is among the highest honors awarded in public health education.
In addition to recognizing Delta Omega inductees, the college presented two student awards celebrating excellence in academic and professional practice.
The Outstanding Capstone Award, which recognizes a student whose culminating project demonstrates excellence in scholarship, innovation and impact, was presented to Ibrahima Kaba.
The Distinguished Student of Practice Award, which honors exceptional leadership, professional achievement and commitment to advancing public health practice, was presented to Bode Lawson.
