Gary Cochran, PhD, has been named the UNMC College of Pharmacy’s interim associate dean for Kearney, effective Aug. 1.
“Dr. Cochran brings a strong commitment to our mission of excellence in education, research, service and community engagement,” said Don Klepser, PhD, Joseph D. Williams Endowed Dean. “His leadership experience, dedication to our students and faculty, and deep understanding of the college’s programs and partnerships will serve the Kearney campus and the college of pharmacy well during this transition.”
An associate professor in the UNMC Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, Dr. Cochran steps in for Linda Sobeski, PharmD, who held the post since 2024, but has decided to step away from this leadership role. She remains a valued faculty member, Dr. Klepser said.
“Her leadership has been instrumental in establishing and growing our presence in Kearney,” Dr. Klepser said.
The college will conduct a search for a permanent associate dean.
