As the UNMC Staff Advisory Council (SAC) enters its second year, it is announcing eight open seats for new members.
The SAC advocates for all UNMC employees across 11 designated units. For the upcoming term, nominations for open positions will be accepted in the following areas:
- Administration / Office of Business & Finance: Two seats
- College of Medicine: Two seats
- College of Dentistry: One seat
- Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases: One seat
- Munroe-Meyer Institute: One seat
- Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research: One seat
Nomination and voting guidelines
- Who can nominate: Any UNMC staff member can self-nominate or nominate colleagues from any unit. Please nominate individuals who are willing and prepared to serve. There is no limit on the number of nominations you may submit.
- Voting: Employees will vote exclusively for candidates within their own unit once the election window opens.
Eligibility Requirements
To serve on the SAC, candidates must:
- Be under the administrative jurisdiction of UNMC.
- Be a full- or part-time staff member (more than 0.5 FTE) in an administrative, managerial, professional, office or service role for at least one consecutive year.
- Be in good standing with the university.
Term Details & Next Steps
Elected members serve a three-year term, and council service counts toward normal work hours.
