Candidate Joe Johnson tours UNMC

Candidate Joe Johnson toured the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Institute during his visit to UNMC.

Joe Johnson, a candidate for Nebraska Legislative District 41, recently visited the medical center. He is seeking a special two-year term to fill a legislative vacancy. District 41 covers Sherman, Valley, Howard, Greeley, Boone, Wheeler and parts of Buffalo and Hall counties.

During the visit, Johnson met with Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, and toured the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Johnson emphasized the importance of expanding access to rural maternal health and recognized healthcare as a key driver of economic growth for the state.

“Healthcare across Greater Nebraska is critically important,” Johnson said. “UNMC is a critical driver of growth for our state. We must foster strong partnerships and collaboration to ensure we continue to lead the nation in medical the nation in medical education, research and innovation.”
