The inaugural Nebraska Medicine and UNMC Staff Art Exhibition opened on Oct. 23 and features 45 works of original art created by colleagues across both organizations. The exhibition will be on display through March 31, 2027, in the level one gallery at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Nebraska Medical Center.

Created through the Healing Arts Program, the exhibition celebrates the talent, creativity, and originality of colleagues from a wide range of departments, backgrounds and artistic experience levels.
More than 70 colleagues submitted artwork for consideration. Pieces selected for the exhibition were reviewed anonymously by guest juror Aaron Holz, a Nebraska artist and professor of painting and drawing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
“It is exciting to see all the creative energy emanating from Nebraska Medicine and UNMC,” Holz said. “I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the diversity of materials and ideas presented.”
The exhibition features an array of artistic styles and mediums, including photography, painting, drawing, mixed media and stained glass. Nature-inspired works are prominently featured alongside pieces exploring medicine, psychology and portraiture.

For those whose work was not selected for the physical exhibition, all qualifying submissions are included in the Virtual Staff Art Exhibition, allowing the community to experience the full breadth of creativity shared by our colleagues.
