Clinical trials seeking volunteers

Researchers in the UNMC Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences are conducting a multi-center clinical trial to identify people who do not respond to two commonly used glaucoma medications and then to determine why the drugs don’t work on them.

The study is focused on healthy people, 40 years of age or older, who have not had eye problems other than needing glasses. Volunteers need to spend three six-hour days and five one- to two-hour days at the Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute for sporadic measurements. The visits are spread over 10 to 12 weeks. The first visit is an eye exam to determine if the volunteer is eligible for the study. This visit is provided at no charge. After that, volunteers will be paid for each visit.

For information on the study, please contact Donna Neely at 402-559-5706 or the research center front desk at 402-559-1852.

Research studies seeking volunteers post their requests on the UNMC Clinical Trials website. Members of the UNMC community can explore the website to see what clinical trials are currently seeking volunteers.
