Beginning today, the Lot 2 (Green) Visitor/Patient parking structure, adjacent to the Durham Outpatient Center (DOC), will undergo lobby renovations as part of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and Emile Street Skywalk project.
The phased construction within the lobbies includes all levels: A, B, 1, 2 and 3. The adjacent stairwell has been reopened, and access to it and elevators will be maintained throughout the process. However, they will have varying restrictions. Directional signage will be posted to assist patients, visitors and staff with way finding, and updates will be provided throughout the work. This renovation is anticipated to be complete in fall 2015.
In addition to these lobby improvements, ongoing work is underway within the Lot 2 parking structure. These upgrades include structural maintenance, surface coatings, painting, lighting and way finding. This work is being phased and will span into 2016.
Construction work continues on the Emile Street Skywalk connecting the Durham Outpatient Center and Lot 50. Crews are completing electrical and roofing preparations. Glass installation will begin this week. The skywalk is on track for completion by end of the year.
