Live United 2010 – Participation Hour starts at 8 a.m.

Participation rankings

Below are the campus participation rankings by unit as of Tuesday afternoon:

  • Chancellor’s unit – 80 percent
  • Nursing – 65 percent
  • Allied Health – 61 percent
  • Public Health – 60 percent
  • Academic Affairs – 53 percent
  • Research – 45 percent
  • Business/finance – 43 percent
  • ITS – 39 percent
  • Eppley Institute – 26 percent
  • Medicine – 21 percent
  • Munroe-Meyer – 20 percent
  • Pharmacy – 15 percent
  • Dentistry – 5 percent

We’ve got this participation goal of 100 percent in the United Way drive. That would mean everyone on campus participates in the drive.

I’m a member of the Chancellor’s Unit, which has led the daily participation rankings since Oct. 8. But even though we lead the way, we still only have 80 percent participation, which means we’re still quite a ways from 100 percent.

Several other units have drastically lower participation percentages than us.

Anyway, today at 8 a.m., the unofficial inaugural UNMC United Way Participation Hour begins.

Those who haven’t participated in the drive yet will receive an e-mail from United Way on Wednesday morning reminding them to participate.

If you’re among this group, between 8 and 9 a.m., we’d like you to:

  • Open the e-mail, which contains your participation password; and
  • Choose a donation amount or select the “no donation” option — choosing not to donate COUNTS as participation.

If you participate, even if it means you click the “no donation option,” you:

  • Help increase your unit’s participation goal; and
  • Qualify to win prizes in Friday’s final weekly prize drawing.

Let’s see how much we can improve those participation stats!
