LeDon was an amazing person. During his time at UNMC he organized programs for local kids to bring them to UNMC every year including stepping-back reaching forward. LeDon was kind, hard working and left an impact on everyone he met. He will be missed.

LeDon was a true gentleman and a good man. I liked him and respected him for his research and all the work he did with inner city kids. LeDon touched many lives when he showed the kids about possibilities and opportunities. He was their hero. He will be missed.

This breaks my heart. LeDon was a good person and a pure joy to have the company of. He was the kind of person you could have a warm, friendly conversation with, on any topic and always feel like you could share a common ground. He was one of the most likeable people i've had the privilege to know. We'll miss him dearly.

What a terrible loss! LeDon was a great man. He spoke quietly and never sought the limelight. He just rolled up his sleeves and got the job done. He was a role model for all of us. He will be missed.

I am hurt, I am hurt, I am hurt. Pain, pain, pain is my name. I cannot stop crying. LeDon was my best friend. We met at Creighton University in Omaha. We transfered to University of Nebraska Omaha together. We did everything together. I was very proud when Dr.Bean graduated with his PhD. I tried to contact him in New Orleans and my calls were not returned. I tried to Google him to see if he was up and gone again. I will tell you. That's the worse way to find out about a friend's death. I am trying to get in contact with his family. Anyone with information on his family please let me know. My prays are with them. LeDon, my best friend. R.I.P.

I grew up with LeDon on 29th Street and Vermont in Los Angeles, California, and went to elementary through high school with him. We shared many experiences together including religion. He was a wonderful man, and friend. I will always pray for him, and I will never forget him. Peace Be Unto Him always.

Ledon was my cousin. He inspired a love of reading and knowledge , and for that i'm thankful. I remember Ledon said "Boy, why are you reading about Batman, Superman and Spiderman?" "Read about the Black Man"! Rest in peace cousin. Shawn Malone

I believe this is LeDon Bean with whom I attended high school, Manual Arts High Los Angeles Class of '71. LeDon was a very interesting peer; always dressed in a suit and tie and hat. I believe his dress style was in part due to his morals and spiritual side. I enjoyed his insightfulness and over the many years wondered whatever happened to this sharp and bright classmate. I am glad to know he excelled and worked on behalf of humanity. I am sorry to know of his passing, but am happy to know I was once a classmate he would take the time to speak with. RIP LeDon. …Joy Hicks Bridges
