Building communities through communication

Whether it’s being in the same department or sharing interests such as pets, plants or favorite recipes, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine support building connections and community within the organizations.

Some students and colleagues have used Viva Engage, formerly known as Yammer, to interact within groups. However, the platform is not supported by Nebraska Medicine and UNMC for employee communication and will no longer be available after Thursday, July 31. This also will help avoid redundancy with supported platforms for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.

To ensure everyone has the best user experience possible, it is recommended that students and colleagues use approved enterprise communication applications, such as creating groups in Microsoft Teams or Nebraska Medicine NOW, where topics can be formed.

The Teams and NOW groups allow people throughout the organizations to communicate and build communities, all while adhering to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine conduct policies.
