Months spent planning and collaborating to improve how UNMC and Nebraska Medicine Integrated Services handles Nebraska Medicine and UNMC projects, information and communication across the organizations is resulting in the launch of Procore, a new project management software platform.
Procore offers robust workflow management, financial tracking and forecasting, as well as reporting and analytics. Heather Kock, integrated services director of operational excellence, said the integrated services division will use these tools to improve collaboration and project management.
“Initially, our customers will receive their budget sheets to review and approve in a different platform, but ultimately, we intend for this to streamline all communication they receive about their project,” Kock said.
The first of four phases of this rollout includes moving current processes into Procore.
Here’s what users need to know:
- All new integrated services project budget-sheet approvals will now be done through Procore, starting this week.
- Users working with the project team will get an invitation to join Procore and set up a password.
- When the account is ready, users will get emails when they need to do something. Just click the link to log in and complete the task.
- Accessing Procore will not require using Single Sign-On (SSO) due to the health system’s many outside partners who also need access to the system. However, Procore’s permissions will make sure everyone only sees what they need for their role.
- Procore will not include Nebraska Medicine and UNMC financial systems yet.
- Procore was initially created for general contractors, so some headers in budget sheets do not look exactly as needed. But all of the important information still is included. These extra fields cannot be turned off at this time, and discussions are continuing with Procore to try to fix this.
The next phases will focus on new process development, integration with Workday and SAP/SAP Ariba.
