Jasmine Marcelin, MD, associate professor in the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases, was selected as a member of the 2026-28 New Voices cohort at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
New Voices in Sciences, Engineering and Medicine is a cohort-based leadership program that promotes collaboration among outstanding mid-career professionals.
“The New Voices program offers an invaluable opportunity to learn from diverse STEM leaders and further strengthen my skills in transformative leadership, innovation and impactful communication,” said Dr. Marcelin, who is also the vice chair of belonging and community engagement for the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine. “This cohort’s emphasis on health and science communication aligns closely with my professional goals. I am truly honored to be selected for this prestigious program and excited for the work ahead.”
During her two-year term of service, Dr. Marcelin may participate in the National Academies’ consensus and convening activities, develop interdisciplinary projects, and help build a robust network of emerging STEM leaders.
