Sara Putnam, MD, an assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, will present “Beyond Hot Flashes: Understanding How Menopause Affects Your Joints” at the next Olson Center Brown Bag.
Many different symptoms can accompany the menopause period in a woman’s life. Hot flashes, physical changes and brain fog are common symptoms. But menopause also can bring on musculoskeletal symptoms, such as joint pain, stiffness and decreased function.
Dr. Putnam will discuss practical lifestyle strategies to reduce joint pain and current evidence on the role of hormone replacement therapy in managing these symptoms.
This virtual event is on Tuesday, March 17, from noon to 1 p.m.
To attend, register through Engage or contact the Olson Women’s Health Resource Center by email or call 402-559-6345. Viewing instructions will be sent to those registered prior to the brown bag.
