Streetcar work to impact additional sections of Farnam Street

Streetcar rail delivery and welding will impact Farnam Street, from 40th to 44th streets, starting Monday, March 16, and lasting up to three weeks.

Street closure for rail delivery

Farnam Street, between 42nd and 44th streets, will be closed for three days, starting March 16.

  • Closure is required to unload and store the streetcar rails.
  • Vehicle access to the Purple Lot (Clarkson Doctors South parking) will remain available from the west.
  • Vehicle access to Blue Lot (Clarkson Doctors Building North parking) will be from Douglas Street.

Street closure for welding work

Immediately after rail delivery is completed on March 19, rail welding work will begin for the next two to three weeks.

  • During welding, Farnam Street will be closed from 40th to 44th streets overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., only westbound traffic will resume on Farnam Street, between 40th and 44th streets. Eastbound traffic will be diverted south on 42nd Street to Dewey Avenue
