The UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will host a Research Town Hall today (March 25) to introduce researchers to Michael Hasselberg, PhD, who joined UNMC and Nebraska Medicine last September to serve as chief transformation and digital officer for the institution.
Dr. Hasselberg comes with an academic background, as a professor of psychiatry, clinical nursing and data science. He previously served as the chief digital health officer at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Ken Bayles, PhD, the UNMC vice chancellor for research, said researchers and their teams are encouraged to attend the town hall to hear about a new era for IT support of research.
“They’re our partners in this,” Dr. Bayles said. “They’re there to help in the ever-changing regulatory environment and a time of increasing cybersecurity threats, under an evolving funding landscape.”
Today’s town hall will run from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Durham Research Center I in the DRC auditorium, Room 1002. The meeting will be available via Zoom webinar through the link on this campus event listing.
Dr. Hasselberg will share updates and his vision for IT and research at UNMC. A panel of research leaders also will be available for Q&A and general updates. The panel will be moderated by moderated by Howard Fox, MD, PhD, senior associate dean of research and development in the UNMC College of Medicine.
Panelists are:
