UNMC’s intranet, info.unmc.edu, will migrate into a new design. The new site will be available the morning of Tuesday, April 21.
Content of the intranet has been updated as part of the migration project. Some content also has been reorganized. To help with navigating the new site, additional links have been added to the Quick Links list. A Log-in drop-down menu is located in the top right-hand corner. Frequently used links also are located in the footer and in the sidebar of the Quick Links page.
If anyone has difficulty finding content, email Stacie Hamel in UNMC Strategic Communications.
The IT DevOps team intends to add back a search tool to the intranet sometime in the coming months.
New tool for document remediation
A tool has been put in place temporarily on University of Nebraska public websites to provide accessible versions of public PDFs. This tool, DocAccess, is being funded for the next year by the University of Nebraska Office of the President.
With DocAccess in place, a user who opens a public PDF on a university site will have the option of toggling to an accessible HTML version. There also are resources listed in the right-hand sidebar, including a DocAccess number to call for help navigating a PDF.
DocAccess is available only for public pdfs, so it is not available for PDFs on our intranet, in Canvas or SharePoint.
UNMC mobile app decommissioned
The UNMC mobile app will be decommissioned by April 24 and no longer will be available for download in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
The redesign of the UNMC website over the last few years made the site responsive down to the mobile phone size.
In addition, separate apps have been introduced for specific services, such as the UNMC Alert app.
