The EDGE District Event Spaces, located within Catalyst, now are available for meetings, workshops, networking events, strategic retreats, innovation programming and community gatherings.
Located in the EDGE District – the 30-acre innovation district adjacent to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine – Catalyst offers modern, flexible environments designed to support collaboration, education, entrepreneurship and engagement across campus and the broader community.
“Great innovation districts are not just about buildings – they’re about creating environments that bring people together,” said Amy Thompson, director of campus development with UNMC Facilities Management and Planning. “These spaces help activate the EDGE District in a highly flexible and welcoming setting.”
Available spaces include:
- Forge Event Hall – A large-format venue designed for lectures, receptions, innovation programming, networking events and seated dinners.
- Steelworks Boardroom & Living Room – A flexible executive-style meeting space ideal for strategy sessions, team meetings, workshops and collaborative gatherings.
- Big Grove Brewery’s Union Room – A casual, hospitality-driven gathering space connected to the taproom, well-suited for social events, team gatherings, happy hours and informal networking.
Amenities include integrated AV technology, presentation displays, flexible seating configurations and access to onsite food and beverage options.
UNMC and Nebraska Medicine departments receive a 50% discount on rentals at the Forge Event Hall and Steelworks Boardroom & Living Room.
“Whether hosting a department retreat, speaker series, workshop, industry meeting or collaborative event, the EDGE District provides a unique environment that connects academia, healthcare, entrepreneurship and industry in the heart of Omaha’s growing innovation ecosystem,” Thompson said. “We encourage faculty and staff to experience the spaces firsthand and explore how the EDGE District can support collaboration, engagement and innovation.”
