UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees are invited to participate in the 2026 Corporate Cycling Challenge happening Sunday, Aug. 16, at downtown Omaha’s Capitol District, 11th Street and Capitol Avenue. The event is free for employees, and employee family members under the age of 23 can participate for a $10 fee. The event will be held rain or shine.
The event offers several different ride distances. Routes are available on the event website.
- Tour De Fort & Grand Fondo: 42 miles, timed ride, 7:30 a.m. check in, 8 a.m. start.
- Tour De Gravel Ride: 42 miles on mixed surface, 7:30 a.m. check in, 8 a.m. start.
- Olde River Ride: 10 miles, 8 a.m. check in, 8:30 a.m. start.
- Riverside Ride: 25 miles, 8 a.m. check in, 8:30 a.m. start.
Online registration is open on the event website. When registering, join UNMC and Nebraska Medicine’s team and select a ride route. Same-day registrations will be accepted at the check-in time for each ride.
Riders will receive full SAG support during the ride. Food, water and restrooms will be provided along the route. After the ride, riders will receive an appreciation gift and finish line celebration.
Riders must provide their own bike and wear an ANSI or SNELL approved helmet. E-bikes are allowed. Parking information and complete ride rules and guidelines are available on the event website.
Last year, the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine team secured a fourth-place finish in the AAA division of the challenge by contributing 228 employee miles and 42 family miles.
