UNMC will host Jane Meza, PhD, interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, on Aug. 24 for stakeholder interviews and a campus presentation.
The review committee is tasked with evaluating Dr. Meza for the permanent role of UNMC vice chancellor of academic affairs. She has served as interim vice chancellor since July 2024.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to hear from Dr. Meza during a campus forum on Aug. 24. The presentation, titled “Transforming Lives Through Extraordinary Education,” will run from noon to 1 p.m. CT in the Sorrell Center, Room 4053, and be available via Zoom. Attendees can access the Zoom link via this intranet page and ask questions during the forum. The link will be added on the day of the presentation.
As interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, Dr. Meza has continued her work in global engagement and strategic planning. She also is a professor in the UNMC Department of Biostatistics. Previously, she served as associate vice chancellor for academic affairs. She also has held positions that included interim executive director for health security, created as part of UNMC’s response to COVID-19, interim dean of the UNMC College of Public Health, chair of the UNMC Department of Biostatistics and senior associate dean of the UNMC College of Public Health.
Dr. Meza joined UNMC in 2000 after earning her doctoral degree and master’s degree in statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
