Welcome and welcome back. The UNMC Graduate Studies Office is excited for the new semester and all the new faces. Graduate Studies has undergone lots of big changes: there are two new faces, a new schedule and soon a new office. For our new students, Graduate Studies is here to help you with your enrollment, program requirements and graduation processing.
Where can I find Graduate Studies?
Graduate Studies is located on the third floor of the Williams Science Hall, just north of the Sorrell Center. Individuals typically are in the office from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with additional availability in the Durham Research Center Graduate Student Wellness Hub on Monday and Friday mornings. This year, Bridget Hamill, PhD, also is offering appointments on Thursday evenings (schedule on appointment at this link).
How do I track my requirements?
Every student should log in and become familiar with Seguidor. Seguidor is the online graduate student information and progress-tracking system used by the Office of Graduate Studies. It helps graduate students, advisers, committee members and program administrators manage and document academic milestones throughout a student’s program.
What is my timeline?
It is important that graduate students understand the timeline for both their program and graduate studies. Timelines differ by degree type and if you are part-time or full-time, but missing deadlines can cause a student to incur fines, holds and, in extreme cases, result in the failure of an exam. Students should become familiar with their individual program timelines, the graduate studies timelines, and graduate program policy and procedures.
