Stem cell issue causing concerns
On March 6, representatives of the Nebraska Coalition for Ethical Research and the Nebraska Catholic Conference came to the University of Nebraska Board of Regents meeting with a request — they urged the regents to prevent UNMC from expanding its research with embryonic stem cell (ESC) lines beyond the limited cell lines approved by President Bush in 2001.
