Library produces how-to video on accessing health care
The UNMC McGoogan Library of Medicine wants to help. The library recently produced “Following the Clues: A Visit to the Doctor and the Library,” a 12-minute video narrated in English, Spanish and Sudanese-Nuer that shows viewers how to navigate the health care system and find health information at the library. Find out more about the on-campus premiere on March 20.

UNMC Rural Health Education Network and Nebraska Area Health Education Centers award 28 small community grants
The University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) have awarded 28 small community grants to fund projects aimed at improving community health and introducing Nebraska youth to health care careers. Common anti-convulsant drug may slow progression of dementia
Researchers have found that a common anticonvulsant drug improved cognitive function and appeared to restore nerve cells in the brains of patients with HIV-related dementia. The results of the Phase I clinical trial are published in the March issue of the scientific journal, “Neurology.”
