Seminar to provide insights on postdoctoral education
Postdoctoral scholars, or postdocs, play a critical role in every research institution. On Monday, UNMC’s new Office of Postdoctoral Education will hold its first-ever postdoctoral education seminar. The event is open to postdocs, faculty and graduate students.

UNMC student enrollment reaches record high
Student enrollment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center reached an all-time high for the second straight year, as 3,067 students are enrolled this fall, a 2.2 percent increase over last year’s total of 3,002. Norton receives August Gold ‘U’ Award
Processing 35 to 45 grants a year might seem like a lot to Cindy Norton’s boss, but that’s just the tip of the paper iceberg. Norton, administrative manger for the department of cellular and integrative physiology at UNMC, has done as many as 60 grants in one year.

UNMC surgeon president of ACS Nebraska chapter
Debra Sudan, M.D., a transplant surgeon and director of the Intestinal Rehabilitation Program for UNMC and its hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, has been elected president of the Nebraska Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. She will serve a two-year term, which ends in January 2008.
