Future dental practitioners at UNMC can make a difference in improved access to dental care, changes in the dentist-patient relationship and educating people about oral health, said James B. Bramson, executive director of the American Dental Association and guest speaker at the UNMC College of Dentistry’s recent Professionals’ Day.

Sam Sanderson, Ph.D., knows all about serendipity. A biochemist, Dr. Sanderson was conducting some experiments several years ago to determine how certain tiny molecules called peptides interact with the immune system. One peptide surprisingly jumped out at him in the experiments.

UNMC hosted Druid Hill Academy students
The UNMC Youth Learning Center hosted an all-day workshop on March 4 for 45 students, grades 3-6, from North Omaha’s Druid Hill Academy. The event was co-sponsored by the Heartland Red Cross in observance of National American Red Cross Awareness Month.
