Grant helps Dr. Teoh-Fitzgerald target breast cancer

Personalized medicine, targeted therapies and preventive measures have become the norm. And all the while, Melissa Teoh-Fitzgerald, Ph.D., has wondered about the tissue surrounding the cancer cells, also known as the stroma, or connective tissue, that supports the cancer cell.

Hymns, Hip-hop, Henry and your Health

There’s more to music than meets the ears. If you’re anxious, depressed, fatigued or in pain, you might consider a dose of tunes to ease you back to health. It is a tower crane that will help to construct the new Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center facility. At 300 feet tall with a wing span of 255 feet, it’s hard to miss. It’s also bright yellow.

On May 10, Beau Kildow received his medical degree at UNMC’s spring Omaha commencement. It will likely be his greatest highlight at Ralston Arena. Likely be? Well, there was that game-winning touchdown earlier this season. Kildow, who matched at Duke and is headed for a residency in orthopedics, spent his last two years of medical school also playing professional indoor football for the Omaha Beef.
